Mercy Hospital’s behavioral health services unit is designated as a Baker Act receiving facility.
Mercy Hospital provides adult and geriatric acute inpatient psychiatric care and treats a wide range of behavioral health diagnoses including co-occurring disorders.
Our newly renovated 32 bed unit combines an environment of safety and comfort for our patient. We are committed to provide high quality behavioral health treatment to the Miami-Dade community.

Mercy Hospital’s Behavioral Health services strive to achieve excellent patient outcomes within a compassionate and caring environment. We provide our patients with the best treatment available through a combination of care coordination, preventive health programs and medication management. The unit has state-of-the-art ECT equipment for those patients whose treatment plan is eligible. The psychiatrist works closely with a team of experienced mental health professionals.
Patients are individually evaluated and their needs are prioritized in order to insure they receive the necessary treatments. Patients and families are encouraged to actively participate in both the planning and implementation of the treatment and to follow up in the community upon discharge with aftercare appointments.
Our Treatment Program
The program provides our patients with both individual and group based therapy programs. This program offer bilingual therapy for both the adult and geriatric programs in an effort to better serve our community and meet our patient needs. Mercy Hospital’s interdisciplinary clinical team consists of psychiatric licensed professionals including psychiatrists, registered nurses, clinical social workers, dieticians, and other mental health professionals.
