Minimally invasive technology is completely changing the way physicians approach surgical procedures. A surgeon makes small incisions in the abdomen area through which a small video camera and thin instruments are inserted to perform the procedure. The surgeon can view the procedure through a video monitor that provides a magnified view of the surgical site.

da Vinci® Technology
daVinci Surgical System
The latest technology in minimally invasive procedures is the da Vinci® Si™. This state-of-the-art robotic system is designed to enhance the capabilities of surgeons for a series of complex surgeries. The arms have been engineered to precisely mimic the movement of the surgeon’s fingers, wrists and hands and can only be controlled by the surgeon while he seats on the console. Its enhanced hi-definition 3D vision helps double visual clarity.
The da Vinci® Surgical System is designed to overcome the limitations of manual laparoscopy with enhanced capabilities, including high-definition 3D vision and a magnified view. The surgeon controls the da Vinci® System, which translates his or her hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside your body. The da Vinci® Si™ can be used for gynecological, prostate and other urologic procedures; as well as colorectal and bariatric surgeries.
Single-Site™ da Vinci® Surgery
Patients needing gallbladder surgery could be candidates for Single-Site™ da Vinci® Surgery. This procedure is performed through a single incision using state-of-the-art precision instruments. Patients who choose Single-Site da Vinci® Surgery experience a virtually scarless procedure since surgery is performed through only one incision in the navel (belly button), which dramatically limits visible scarring.
