Mercy Hospital College of Nursing is now actively holding information sessions for the next LPN to RN Associate of Science in Nursing Degree class. Individuals interested in applying to the college must attend an information session. Reservations for these sessions must be made directly with the college as space is limited. In this hospital-based, LPN to RN Associate of Science Degree program you will receive the necessary preparation and clinical experience to become a Registered Nurse in approximately one year after general education courses have been completed.
The RN is a vital and valued healthcare team member. As a registered nurse, you have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of healthcare settings including hospitals, clinics, community health agencies, long-term care facilities, insurance companies, schools, physician’s offices, home health services, and in the military.
The RN is an active participant in wellness promotion as well as in the care of the ill in all stages of the life span. Registered Nurses practice professional nursing and perform those acts requiring specialized knowledge, judgment and skill. The Registered Nurse observes, assesses, applies nursing diagnosis, plans, intervenes, and evaluates care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirmed. The Registered Nurse promotes wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness of others.
